Oklahoma students can receive a free college education by qualifying for OHLAP
CAP can help your family find out about and apply for Oklahoma's Higher Learning Access Program (OHLAP), which can provide assistance for higher education for Oklahoma students with limited financial resources.
OHLAP requires students to complete a core curriculum, maintain a minimum GPA, and meet codes of conduct to be eligible for free tuition for up to five years at any public Oklahoma college or university. OHLAP will also cover a portion of the tuition at independent/private universities or colleges and some public technology centers.
The program, which is sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, is open to students grades 8-10 whose annual family income is $50,000 or less. Parents must supply proof of income. Some other conditions apply.
You can get more information and even apply online at www.okpromise.org, or call Liz Eccleston, CAP's OHLAP Project Manager, at (918) 382-3248.
To volunteer to help students and their families with the application process, call (918) 382-3269.
