Why CAP is Involved in Early Childhood Education
There is no greater investment you can make for your children than enrolling them in a high quality early childhood education program.
Community Action Project of Tulsa County (CAP) administers early childhood education programs to help ensure that all of Tulsa's children will be healthy and ready to learn by the time they enter school.
Our Early Head Start (ages 0 to three) and Head Start (ages three to five) programs provide low-income families with affordable childcare focused on educational and socio-emotional development and addressing proper nutrition and physical and mental health.
Philosophy & Mission
CAP's mission is to improve the prospects for the long-term economic success of very young, low-income children, their families, and the communities in which they live.
CAP's programs and services are designed to meet the following goals:
- Young children are prepared to learn and succeed in school.
- Families with young children have greater opportunities for financial independence and success.
- The communities young children and their families live in are strengthened.
Our Early Childhood Education program includes Head Start, Early Head Start, and Educare programs, family support services for those enrolled in our early education programs, and participation in the Partnership for the Availability of School Supplies (PASS) program.
