About CAP

CAP's mission is to help families in economic need achieve self-sufficiency. We provide a variety of services to the low-income community in the Tulsa area. Our programs focus on advancing the education and school readiness of very young children (ages 0-5). and improving the financial circumstances and economic independence of families with young children, while also ensuring that these children and families live in safe, secure, nurturing communities.

Our services includes early childhood education (Head Start, Early Head Start and the State of Oklahoma's Pilot Program in Early Childhood Education); income tax preparation assistance; a first-time homebuyers support & education program; renovated homes for sale; financial education; screening and application assistance for public benefit programs (such as Food stamps & Medicaid); as well as policy analysis and advocacy. Our programs are administered by more than 450 staff members and are supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers every year. Of every dollar in funding that CAP receives, 92 cents goes directly to client services; only 8 cents is used to cover administrative costs.

Additionally, we work hand-in-hand with other Tulsa area agencies to address community needs, and believe strongly in the power of joint partnerships. Our goal is to continually develop programs that respond to the changing needs of our clients and of the greater Tulsa community. We are committed to delivering our services in a manner that instills trust, builds relationships and promotes long-term self-sufficiency for low-income families.
